Thinking about making the leap from just snorkeling to the exhilaration and freedom of full SCUBA gear?  Maybe this will help you decide.  This 1 Day course will allow the adventurer who would just like to try Scuba Diving for a day.  You will learn alot, and it’s tons of fun and perfectly safe as your instructor will be with you from start to finish.  It’s perfect for those of you would like to try diving and do not have the four days or so that it takes to get fully certified.  The day begins with 1-2 hours in the pool... then after lunch you go to the reef on the afternoon trip. What an amazing way to spend a day, and who knows, it could be just what you needed to get you started in becoming a Certified Open Water Scuba Diver!  Prices range from $125 to $135 and includes all instruction, equipment and the the boat trip too. You know, it’s interesting,  but think about the cost of taking a Resort Course like this:  Many of the smarter Certified Divers that will be diving on holiday in a new and unfamiliar location will hire a dive master as an underwater guide, mostly to get more out of the dive and see more things that they would have otherwise missed.  And the cost of a Resort Course is only about what you would pay to have that dive master guide!  See what we mean?  Incredibly affordable!  Call ahead for reservations.

Welcome aboard “Phoenix”!  She is the only 46’ Newton ‘Dive Special’ in Key West.  With an 18 foot beam (width) and super high-tech design, she’ll zip you out to the shallow reefs and deep water wrecks in just 30 minutes flat!  Are you a big fan of wrecks?... then go for the morning trip which does one wreck dive, followed by a shallow 1 hour coral reef location.  The afternoon trip does two separate shallow reef locations. Duval Street Dive Store is open from 8am to 7pm at Truman and Duval, right next to the internet cafe... and their vessel runs out of the Hyatt Resort on Simonton. Not a Certified Diver? What are you waiting for? Duval Street Divers offers a number of solutions for getting in the water, no matter how much (or little) time you have available: They have a first class open water certification program (call to inquire) or you might even consider a ‘referral / check out dive’. This is where you do all your classroom work in your home town and then do your open water work in the crystal clear, balmy waters off Key West!  Then again if you only have a day, try their ‘Resort Course’ which is in the pool in the morning and on the reef in the afternoon... the instructor is there with you to guide you along every step of the way - call ahead!
